If you are using a board you can use stickers to make it even better.

An example of using mind map
You are a student and you need to learn how to do basic math operations like subtraction, addition, multiplication or division. You may follow these steps:
- Your main idea is to learn math operations. So take a paper or use your computer and draw a circle in the center of a page and write math operations in it.
- You have 4 sub-tasks to complete. Think the circle as a root of a tree. Now draw 4 branches each one represents 1 task. Draw circles to the end of the branches and write a task in it.
- Now your main idea is broken down into smaller parts. This way you will just focus on one task and this will make you progress faster.
